Kittredge, CO's Seasonal Mosquito Barrier Treatment Team

Most barrier treatments remain effective for about 21 days, which is why seasonal programs schedule visits on that cycle.

Both — barrier spray handles adult mosquitoes while larvicide treats standing water we can't drain, addressing the full breeding cycle.

Barrier products are applied according to label guidelines for residential use — we'll flag any areas needing special handling.

Yes — we schedule one-time treatments timed a day or two before weddings, parties, or graduations for maximum effect on the event date.

Ponds and water features usually need larvicide treatment rather than barrier spray, since spray doesn't reach larvae developing in the water.

A three-week cycle is typical, though heavier rainfall seasons sometimes call for tighter scheduling. It also helps to check for any new containers holding water after storms, since a single overturned bucket can restart breeding within days.
